Wer Bin ich ? Who am I?
Englisch version below.
Hey,
ihr denkt euch bestimmt etwas wie "Was will die denn?!" oder "Warum ausgerechnet Ecuador?!".
Also mein Name ist Hanna, ich bin 16
Jahre alt und wohne bei Berlin, Deutschland.
Zurzeit gehe ich in die 10. Klasse eines Gymnasiums, aber in 4 Monaten werde ich nach Ecuador aufbrechen. Dort werde ich ein Jahr in der Stadt Ambato verbringen und anschließend wieder in die 11. Klasse einsteigen.
Ich hab diesen Blog erstellt, um meine Erfahrungen in meinem Austauschjahr mit anderen zu teilen und Fragen darüber zu beantworten. Vor allem, da Ecuador ein eher untypisches Land für ein Auslandsjahr ist und ich selber noch nicht viele Blogs oder YouTube-Tagebücher darüber finden konnte.
Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich das erste mal von der Möglichkeit gehört, ein Auslandsjahr (ALJ) zu machen und fande die Idee einfach genial. Aus meiner Klassen haben manche der älteren Geschwister auch eins gemacht, oder machen es gerade, dadurch habe ich viele Geschichten darüber gehört. Zusätzlich hängen in meiner Schule viele Plakate darüber und es gibt mindestens einmal im Jahr eine Informationsveranstaltung für Eltern und Schüler. Ich persönlich war nie bei einer davon (xD), aber mein Vater schon. Denn wir haben öfter darüber geredet und ich habe ihm erzählt, dass ich total gerne ein ALJ machen würde. Also ist er hingegangen und hat ein paar Broschüren mitgebracht, hauptsächlich von der Organisation YFU (Youth For Understanding Komitee), da diese keine Austauschprogramme anbietet sonder welche bei denen die Familie niemanden aufnimmt während man weg ist.
Dann, vor ca. 10 Monaten, habe ich mich genauer damit auseinandergesetzt und auch mit meinem Vater darüber geredet, dass ich es wirklich machen will. Dann habe ich mich einfachmal online bei YFU beworben und alles hat seinen Lauf genommen bis ich schließlich am 23. August nach Ecuador fliegen werde.
Warum Ecuador? Um ehrlich zu sein war Ecuador nicht mein erst Wunsch, das war nämlich Australien. Denn ich war schon immer von Australien fasziniert (Ok, ich gebe zu das kommt wahrscheinlich von "H2O plötzlich Meerjungfrau" und "Dance Academy - Tanz deinen Traum").
Als zweit Wunsch hatte ich Costa Rica da ich auch dieses Land einfach genial finde (nicht zuletzt durch die Reisevideos von Simon Ungespielt), die Landschaft, die Leute und auch die Sprache: Spanisch. In der Schule lerne ich Englsich, Französisch und Spanisch, deshalb war klar dass ich nur in ein englisch- oder spanischsprachiges Land gehen werde, da nicht noch eine Sprache lernen will. Nach Europa wollte ich auch nicht, keine Ahnung warum ist so ein Gefühl gewesen, ich wollte etwas komplett neues und deswegen war mein zweit Wunsch auch in Südamerika.
Eigentlich wollte ich erst keinen dritt Wunsch nehmen da ich dachte, dass das schon klappen würde, habe mich dann aber doch entschieden ein drittes Land zu nehmen. Nur leider hatte ich keine Ahnung welches... Also habe ich eine Liste mit den Ländern gemacht die in Südamerika Spanisch als Amtssprache haben und wo ich mit YFU auch hinfahren konnte und lies am ende meine Freunde entscheiden (nur dass sie nicht wussten das es um mein ALJ geht xD).
Tja und so wurde es Ecuador.
Am Anfang fande ich es natürlich blöd, dass es weder Australien noch Costa Rica wurde, aber mittlerweile bin ich so extrem happy darüber <3. Denn nach Australien (oder den USA) fährt jeder.. und da kann man auch "einfacher" mal nach der Schule hinfahren, ich glaube ich wäre sonst niemals nach Ecuador gefahren, ich meine was will ich den da ?! Wo sie nichtmal wirklich Englsich sprechen?! Und wovon ich nicht nie wirklich etwas gehört habe ?! Und genau das werde ich im nächsten Jahr herrausfinden.
Ich hoffe ich kann ein paar Menschen dazu animieren darüber nachzudenken ein Auslandsjahr zu machen und wenn ja vielleicht in ein etwas "untypisches" Land zu fahren.

I am living in Germany and so I hope my English isn't that bad, but I really tried to do my best.
I am 16 years old and live in the near of Berlin and I'm in the 10th grade of High School. I am going to make an exchange year (2017/18) to Ambato, Ecuador and this will be my diary about it. In Ecuador I will live in a host family and I am going to school there like I did here in Germany for 11 Months. I decided to make this blog because, I want to share my experiences with other people and maybe inspire them to make an exchange year too.
The first time I heard about the opportunity to make one was a few years ago, when the older sister of my classmate was in the USA and she talked about it every time in class. This was really interesting and nice for me. I really wanted to travel around when I am older, I mean we only live once and I think we should learn more about the people we share our home with, right?!
Also I like to meet new people and learn more about the different cultures and languages. So when I heard about the opportunity first, I was really interested in it. In my school are some posters about the different oraganisations for doing an exchange year with and once in a year there is an afternoon who an former exchange student talk about thier experience and answer some questions about it. My dad visit on of these meetings and take a brochure of YFU (Youth for Understanding) with him.
And one year ago I decided to make it. I applied by YFU and I got accepted and so I will fly on the August 23rd.
Why Ecuador? To be honest Ecuador was not my first wish, but now I am so glad that I got it. I think If I had had got Australia (which was my first wish) it would be very boring because it's so normal that people make they exchange year there (or in the USA) and Ecuador is not that typical country for an exchnage year or even for a normal vacation trip. It's the contray of Germany and I really want to know more about it because of this.
I hope that I can inspire only one person to travel around the world and to learn more about the different cultures and peoples who lives on the planet we call "Home".
